Dear Editor,Notalgia paresthetica (NP) is a clinical entity characterized by localizedpain, itching, hyperesthesia, paresthesia and hyperpigmentation usuallylocated on the inferior scapular area. Although its etiopathogenesis isnot fully known, two main possible pathophysiological mechanism hasbeen proposed: Increased sensory innervation in the affected skin andneuropathy due to direct nerve compression or degenerative cervicaldisc disease. Topical treatments are often insufficient in relieving symp-toms.
