Dear Editor, Trichoscopy is a non-invasive, in vivo diagnostic method widely used in the diagnosis of hair conditions. In hair diseases involving large areas, it is usually not possible to trichoscopically display the entire area in a single frame. The analysis of multiple separate trichoscopic images is often necessary to achieve a holistic evaluation. Recently, Abraham et al suggested a practical and real-time method called “panoramic trichoscopy” that handles with this technical limitation. To achieve panoramic imaging, a handheld dermoscope is attached to a smartphone, and “panorama mode” is activated. The device then moved continually over the involved area.1 We suggest that the term “scanning trichoscopy” may also be used to describe this imaging modalien_US
