Bilim ve sanat merkezlerinde uygulanan programların öğrenci veli ve öğretmen beklentilerine göre değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Bilim ve Sanat Merkezlerinde uygulanan programların öğrenci, öğretmen ve veli beklentilerine göre değerlendirilmesini amaçlamaktadır. Tyler'ın Hedefe Dayalı Program Değerlendirme modeli esas alınarak, programların hedeflerine ulaşma düzeyi, katılımcıların beklentilerinin karşılanma düzeyine göre değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma 2020-2021 ve 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılları içinde 5 farklı ilde (Aksaray, Kırşehir, Kırıkkale, Nevşehir, Niğde) bulunan Bilim ve Sanat Merkezinde lise düzeyinde öğrenim gören öğrenci, veli ve bu kurumlarda görev yapan öğretmenlerle yürütülmüştür. Araştırma örneklemini belirlemede hem nicel hem de nitel aşamada amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden tipik örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel ve nitel yöntemin birlikte kullanıldığı açıklayıcı karma desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel verileri, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen BİLSEM Programlarına Yönelik Öğrenci Öğretmen ve Veli Beklentileri Değerlendirme Ölçeği, nitel verileri ise yine araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan BİLSEM Programları Değerlendirme Formu ile elde edilmiştir. Nicel verilerin istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmesinde SPSS istatistik programı kullanılmış, betimsel istatistiksel frekans ve yüzde çözümlemeler, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi ve LSD Alpha Testi hesaplanmıştır. Nitel verilerin analizinde MAXQDA programı kullanılmış ve veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları genel olarak ele alındığında, BİLSEM programlarına yönelik beklentilerin karşılandığı, programların öğrencilerin sosyal, kişisel ve yaratıcılık becerilerini geliştirdiği konusunda öğrenci, öğretmen ve velilerin hemfikir olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmenlerin, öğrencilerin derse devam etme, etkinliklere aktif katılım ve ilgi ve istek konularındaki beklentilerinin karşılanmadığı, velilerin ise çocuklarının yetenek alanlarında uzmanlık kazanma ve gayretli olma beklentilerinin karşılanmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin velilerden BİLSEM'in kuruluş amacı ve işleyişi ve özel yeteneklilik konusunda bilgi sahibi olmalarına yönelik beklentileri karşılanmamıştır. Öğrencilerin anne babalarından beklentileri, kendilerine hem maddi hem de manevi olarak destek olmasıdır. Öğrencilerin yönetimden karşılanan beklentileri anlayış, öğretim ihtiyaçlarının karşılanması, sosyal etkinlik ve proje çalışmalarının desteklenmesi olurken, zengin donanım, sosyal etkinlik ve ders programının esnek olması ise karşılanmayan beklentilerdir. Öğretmenlerin BİLSEM yönetimlerinden beklentileri adil yönetim, akademik destek, mesleki eğitim olarak sıralanmaktadır. Veliler yönetimden karşılanan beklentileri iletişim, bilimsel çalışmalar, ihtiyaçların karşılanması ve bilgilendirme olurken, karşılanmayan beklentiler ise yeterli kaynak, iletişim, ilgi ve rehberlik hizmeti olmuştur.

This study aims to evaluate the programs implemented in Science and Art Centers according to the expectations of students, teachers and parents. Based on Tyler's Goal-Based Program Evaluation model, the level of achieving the goals of the programs was evaluated according to the level of meeting the expectations of the participants. The research was conducted with students studying at the high school level, their parents and teachers working in the Science and Art Center in 5 different provinces (Aksaray, Kırşehir, Kırıkkale, Nevşehir, Niğde) during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years. In determining the research sample, the typical sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used in both quantitative and qualitative stages. In the research, explanatory mixed design, in which quantitative and qualitative methods are used together, was used. The quantitative data of the study were obtained with the Student Teacher and Parent Expectations Evaluation Scale for BİLSEM Programs developed by the researcher, and the qualitative data were obtained with the BİLSEM Programs Evaluation Form prepared by the researcher. SPSS statistical program was used in the statistical evaluation of quantitative data, descriptive statistical frequency and percentage analysis, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA and LSD Alpha Test were calculated. The MAXQDA program was used in the analysis of qualitative data and the data were analyzed by content analysis method. Considering the results of the research, it has been determined that students, teachers and parents agree that the expectations for BİLSEM programs are met and that the programs improve students' social, personal and creativity skills. It has been concluded that the expectations of the teachers regarding the attendance of the students, active participation and interest were not met. The expectations of teachers from parents to have knowledge about the establishment purpose and operation of BİLSEM and special abilities were not met. Students expect from their parents to support them both financially and morally. Understanding, meeting the needs, supporting social activities and project studies are students expectations from the administration that are met, rich equipment, social activities and flexibility of the course program are the expectations that are not met. It has been observed that teachers' expectations from BİLSEM administrations are fair administration, academic support, and vocational training. While parents'expectations from the administrations about scientific studies, meeting the needs and informing are met, sufficient resources, communication, expectations are not met.
