Türkçeyi yabancı dil olarak öğrenme verimliliğini etkileyen öğretmen davranış ve özellikleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Türkçeyi yabancı dil olarak öğrenme verimliliğini etkileyen öğretmen davranış ve özelliklerini tespit etmektir. Durum çalışması yöntemli nitel bu çalışmanın evrenini, 2021-2022 akademik yılında resmî üniversitelerin Türkçe öğretim merkezlerinde Türkçe öğrenen yabancı uyruklu öğrenciler ve yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğreten öğretim elemanları oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın katılımcılarını ise bu evrenden amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesi yöntemiyle belirlenen elli öğrenci (bir Türkçe öğretim merkezinde Türkçe öğrenen en az A2 seviyesindeki öğrencilerden seçilmiş) ve yirmi iki öğretim elemanı (bir Türkçe öğretim merkezinde görev yapan) oluşturmaktadır. Öğrencilerden veriler; odak grup görüşmesi yöntemiyle, öğretim elemanlarından ise bireysel görüşme yöntemiyle toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın verileri içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonunda, Türkçeyi yabancı dil olarak öğrenme verimliliğini etkileyen öğretmen davranış ve özellikleri saptanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar, öğretim elemanının öğretimin planlayıcısı ve yol göstericisi, mesleki açıdan iyi yetişmiş olması ve öğrencilerin Türkçeyi iyi öğrenmeleri için olumlu öğrenme ortamları hazırlaması gerektiğine işaret etmektedir. Araştırma iki aşamalı olarak yürütülmüştür. İlk aşamada tez konusu ile ilgili hazırlanan öğrenci soruları, yabancı uyruklu öğrencilere sorularak cevaplar alınmıştır. İkinci aşamada ise tez konusu ile ilgili hazırlanan öğretim elemanı soruları, bu alanda eğitim veren öğretim elemanlarına sorularak cevaplar alınmıştır. Çalışmada veriler; öğrencilerden odak grup görüşmesi tekniği ve araştırmacının hazırladığı görüşme sorularıyla, öğretim elemanlarından ise bireysel görüşme tekniği ve yine araştırmacının hazırladığı görüşme sorularıyla toplanılmıştır. The aim of this research is to determine teacher behaviors and characteristics that affect the efficiency of learning Turkish as a foreign language. The universe of this qualitative study with case study method consists of foreign students who learn Turkish at the Turkish teaching centers of official universities in the 2021 - 2022 academic year, and instructors who teach Turkish as a foreign language. The participants of the study consisted of fifty students (selected from at least A2 level students learning Turkish in a Turkish teaching center) and twenty two instructors (working in a Turkish teaching center) determined by the easily accessible situation sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods from this universe. Data from students were collected by focus group interview method, and from faculty members by individual interview method. The data of the study were analyzed by content analysis method. At the end of the study, teacher behaviors and characteristics that affect the efficiency of learning Turkish as a foreign language were determined. The results obtained from the research indicate that the instructor should be the planner and guide of the teaching, be well- trained professionally and prepare positive learning environments for the students to learn Turkish well. The research was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, students questions about the thesis topic were asked to foreign students and answers were received. In the second stage, the questions of the instructors prepared about the thesis subject were asked to the instructors giving education in this field and answers were obtained. Data in the study; It was collected from the students with the focus group interview technique and interview questions to be prepared by the researcher, and from the instructors with the individual interview technique and interview questions to be prepared by the researcher.
