Objective: When urticaria is classified, firstly, urticaria is classified as acute and chronic, and chronic urticaria is classified as spontaneous and inducible urticaria. Symptomatic dermographism (SD) is the most common type of chronic inducible urticaria. There are no serum biomarkers reflecting disease activity and treatment response in SD. There are some parameters examined as inflammatory biomarkers obtained from routine complete blood count. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the complete blood count parameters and the levels of blood-based systemic inflammation biomarkers in the SD patient group and healthy control group. Material and Methods: A retrospective study of 114 SD patients and 116 healthy controls was conducted. Between patients and controls; blood groups, thyroid hormones, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), hemogram levels were examined. Neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR), mean platelet volume/platelet count (MPV/PC) levels were calculated. Results: There was no significant difference between the groups in terms of age and gender of the subjects (p>0.05). It was determined that lymphocyte and eosinophil values in SD patients were significantly higher than the control group (p<0.05). There was no significant difference between NLR, PLR, MPV/PC and CRP or ESR (p>0.05). The relationship between blood groups and disease was not statistically significant (p>0.05). Conclusion: In our study, the lack of statistical difference between ESR and CRP and NLR, PLR and MPV/PLT variables in patients with SD supports that the disease is an inducible disease rather than an underlying inflammatory picture. It reveals that the use of these variables as markers of inflammation in patients with SD is not appropriate, and further studies with larger participation are needed on this subject. © 2022 OrtadogŸu Reklam Tanitim Yayincilik Turizm Egitim Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.. Neutrophil/lymphocyte and platelet/lymphocyte ratios are associated with disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis
Sas, Senem (DERMAN MEDICAL PUBL, 2019)Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between Neutrophil to Lymphocyte (NLR) and Platelet to Lymphocyte (PLR) ratios in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Disease Activity Score-28 (DAS28) ... -
Usefulness of white blood cell count to mean platelet volume ratio in the prediction of SYNTAX score in patients with non-ST elevation myocardial infarction
