Üreter Ve Mesane Taşlarının Endoskopik Cerrahi İle Tedavisinde Ürologların Anestezi Yöntemi Tercihleri

Abstract

AMAÇ: Bu çalışmada ürologların üreter ve mesane taşlarının endoskopik cerrahi ile tedavisinde rejyonal anestezi ile ilgili tercihlerini ve nedenlerini saptamayı amaçladık. GEREÇ VE YÖNTEMLER: Ürologların elektronik posta adreslerine anket formları gönderildi. Cinsiyet, yaş, çalıştıkları bölge, çalıştıkları kurum, uzman olarak çalıştıkları süre, üreter ve mesane taşları için endoskopik cerrahi operasyonlarında kendileri ve hastaları için tercih ettikleri anestezi yöntemi, rejyonal anestezi ile ilgili görüşlerinin soruldu. Rejyonal anestezi tercih etme ve etmeme nedenleri öğrenmek amacıyla on üç başlık için 5 puanlı Likert skalası (1: kesinlikle katılıyorum 2: katılıyorum 3: fikrim yok 4: katılmıyorum 5: kesinlikle katılmıyorum) uygulandı.BULGULAR: Ürologlar (166 erkek)(%100) anket formunu internet üzerinden yanıtladı. Ürologların yaşı ve çalışma süreleri ile anestezi yöntemi tercihleri arasında anlamlı fark saptanmadı (p>0.05). Ürologların hastaları için ve kendileri için genellikle rejyonal anestezi tercih ettikleri tespit edildi (%67.5, %60.2). Gruplar arasında rejyonal anestezi tercihleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark saptanmadı (p=0.17).Ürologların hastaları için tercih ettikleri anestezi yönteminde çalışılan kurumlar yönünden istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmadı (p>0.05). Fakat Üniversite hastanelerinde çalışan ürologlar, kendisi veya birinci derece yakını için rejyonal anesteziyi %42.3 oranında tercih etmiştir, bu oran diğer kurumlarda çalışanların oranından daha azdır (p=0.005).SONUÇ: Ürologların çoğunluğu rejyonal anestezinin güvenli olduğunu düşünmektedir. Bu yüzden hem kendileri hem de hastaları için sıklıkla tercih etmektedirler.

OBJECTIVE: In this study, we aimed to determine the preferences and reasons of urologists for regional anesthesia in the treatment of ureter and bladder stones by means of endoscopic surgery.MATERIAL AND METHODS: Questionnaires were sent to the e-mail addresses of the urologists. Among the questions asked were gender, age, the region they work, the institution they work, duration of working as an expert in field, method of anesthesia they prefer to use for their patients and themselves in endoscopic surgical operations for ureter and bladder stones, and their opinions on regional anesthesia.For thirteen titles, five-point Likert scale was applied in order to learn the reasons for choosing and refusing regional anesthesia. (1: Definitely agree 2: I agree 3: No idea 4: Disagree 5: Definitely disagree)RESULTS: Urologists (166 men) (100%) answered the survey form on internet. No meaningful difference was detected between the age of urologists and their working time, and their anesthesia method preferences (p > 0.05).It was found out that urologists generally prefer regional anesthesia for patients and themselves (67.5%, 60.2%). No statistically meaningful difference was detected in the preference of regional anesthesia (p = 0.17) between groups.No statistically meaningful difference was detected in the anesthesia method urologists prefer for their patients (p > 0.05) on account of institutions they work. Yet, urologists working in university hospitals prefer regional anesthesia at a rate of 42.3% for their own use or for their first-degree relatives, and this rate is less than the rate of the urologists working in other institutions (P = 0.005).CONCLUSION: The majority of urologists believe that regional anesthesia is safe. So, they usually prefer it for themselves and their patients.
