İlköğretim 4 ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin kitap okuma alışkanlıklarının sosyo-ekonomik düzeylerine göre incelenmesi

Abstract

Araştırma ilköğretim 4 ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin okuma alışkanlıklarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 718 alt, 432 orta ve 234 üst sosyo-ekonomik düzeyden; 712 dördüncü sınıf ve 672 beşinci sınıf olmak üzere toplam 1384 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Anket formu ile elde edilen veriler, SPSS programına girilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde yüzde ve frekans dağılım tabloları yapılmış, frekans dağılımları ki-kare testi ile 0,05 anlamlılık düzeyinde test edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; ilköğretim 4 ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin boş zamanlarında en çok kitap okumaktan hoşlandıkları, büyük bir çoğunluğunun evlerinde kendilerine ait bir kitaplıklarının olduğu, kitap okumalarına en çok derslerinin yoğunluğu ile sınavlara hazırlanmalarının engel olduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Ayrıca öğrencilerin okuma alışkanlıklarının sosyo-ekonomik düzeylerine göre farklılaştığı görülmüştür.

The aim of the study is to find out the reading habits of 4th and 5th grade students in primary education. The sample of the study consists of 718 sub, 432 medium and 234 students with high socio-economic status. From the total of 1384 students, 712 were fourth grade and 672 were fifth grade students. Obtained by questionnaire form, the data was entered into SPSS programme. Percentage and frequency distribution tables were used for datum analyze, frequency distributions were tested by chi-square test in the 0,05 significance level. At the end of this study, it has been found out that 4th and 5th grade students mostly like reading in their free time, most of them have bookcases of their own at home, studying for the lessons and examinations prevent them from reading. Besides, it has been found out that there are differences in reading habits among the students according to their socio-economic status.
