Nanoparticle Based Bio-Barcode Systems and their Research Applications in in Vitro Diagnostics

Abstract

The bio-barcode is a new diagnostic tool and has been progressively applied to the determination of protein, nucleic acid, and small-molecule. The bio-barcode systems have important advantages of high sensitivity, short detection time, simple operation, low cost, good repeatability in medicinal applications. In this chapter, we will especially describe nanoparticle-based bio-barcode systems (nano bio-barcodes) including designing nano bio-barcodes, synthesis methods, and in vitro diagnostic applications.
