Özet

Objective: The present study aimed to investigate the prevalence of daytime sleepiness and related factors, particularly during the pandemic period among midwifery students (n = 474). Methods: This cross-sectional study data were collected from the Information Form, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. Results: The prevalence of students with daytime sleepiness (Epworth Sleepiness Scale ≥10) was determined as 22.2%. It was found that the sleep duration after the pandemic increased significantly in both groups. The multivariate logistic regression analysis results demonstrated that the Trait Anxiety score, sleepiness in lessons, and the state of having a sleep routine at night were the risk factors affecting daytime sleepiness among midwifery students. Conclusion: Students should be directed to pieces of training where they will gain sleep habits.
