Özet
This study aims to develop a novel competency-based curriculum design model for undergraduate programs in higher education within the framework of quality assurance in education. In line with this objective, the research was conducted using the grounded theory method, adopting a multidimensional data collection process. Through document analysis and bibliometric analysis, the theoretical framework was strengthened, and trends in existing literature and practices were identified. Delphi surveys allowed for feedback from academic experts, facilitating the identification of core competencies that should be included in higher education curricula, while interviews with industry representatives provided in-depth insights into the expectations of the labour market and how these can be addressed in competency-based curriculum design. The findings emphasize the significance of an approach that meets the needs of the modern workforce and aligns with higher education standards in designing competency-based curricula within the context of quality assurance. Curricula should be structured to address contemporary demands such as technological literacy, digital skills, sustainability, and interdisciplinary competencies. Additionally, a vi flexible and inclusive structure that considers individual differences is recommended. Insights from Delphi experts and industry representatives highlight the necessity of curriculum designs that promote active participation, prioritize applied teaching methods, and allow for continuous updates. Alongside professional knowledge and skills, the development of personal attributes such as adherence to ethical values, professional identity, analytical thinking, and leadership is deemed essential for both individual and societal contributions. In conclusion, competency-based curricula that ensure quality in education emerge as a sustainable and innovative model addressing not only academic requirements but also the dynamics of the business world. In this context, curricula that balance theory with practice and adopt a student-centred and quality- focused approach are projected to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of higher education, preparing students more effectively for the demands of the workforce.
