Özet

This study was conducted to investigate pre-service teachers' views on the use of mosaics in mathematics teaching. For this purpose, a two-stage process was planned and implemented. At the beginning of the process, pre-service teachers were given basic information about mosaic art and were asked to create their own mosaics. They were then asked questions about the usability of this work in mathematics teaching and their suggestions were collected. In the second stage, 16 drawing and feedback activities were conducted to explore the relationship between mosaics and mathematics learning areas. The research was carried out with 50 pre-service teachers studying in the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. According to the findings obtained from the study, pre-service teachers consider mosaics to be a useful tool in mathematics teaching
